Man killed when vehicle misses curve, hits tree in Monroe Co.

Car burst into flames off Route 447

PRICE TWP., Pa. - A 45-year-old man was killed late Tuesday night when his car hit a tree and then burst into flames in Monroe County.

The accident happened around 11:30 p.m. on Route 447, just south of Circle H Road, in Price Township.

The vehicle was traveling north on Route 447 when the driver, Patrick Kane, of Canadensis, failed to negotiate a curve, went off the road and hit a tree, police said.

The car then caught fire with Kane still inside. He died at the scene, officials said.

An autopsy is planned for Thursday to determine the cause of death.
