Man opens fire during bingo night at Schuylkill County bar

UNION TWP., Pa. - Everything is quiet at the Shenandoah Fish and Game Club, with no one inside the building in Union Township.

No one is talking about the tense moments Tuesday night when police say 62-year-old Steven Brobst opened fire during bingo night.

According to the affidavit, troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police, Frackville barracks say a 911 caller told dispatchers a woman at the bar had been shot in the back of the head.

Investigators would later find out the woman, Diane, is the wife of Steven Brobst.

Court paperwork says Brobst walked into the club, reached in his jacket and pulled out a semi-automatic hand gun.

After allegedly shooting the victim, Brobst tried backing out of the club but people inside ran toward him.

Brobst then tried to shoot himself but the gun jammed. He then pointed the gun at a witness but people were able to tackle him and get the gun away.

Steven Brobst is currently in the Schuylkill County Jail facing a number of charges including attempted homicide. At last check, Diane Brobst was in critical condition.
