Penn Forest Twp. closes Friday after workman's comp issue

PENN FOREST TWP., Pa. - The offices of a Carbon County municipality were closed for business Friday.

According to Penn Forest Township, the municipal office and the township's fire company were shut down due to an emergency.

Officials did not say what that emergency is but the fire chief says the situation stems from an issue with workman's compensation.

The fire chief says four neighboring districts on are on standby if something were to happen.
