Schuylkill inquest rules inmate's death accidental overdose

On Monday, an inquest jury determined a Schuylkill County Prison inmate died of an accidental drug overdose.

The rarely used coroner's inquest uses a jury of six to determine a cause of death.

In Monday's case, jurors had to decide if the death of 21-year-old Matthew Koncsler was a criminal act, accident or suicide.

They ultimately decided it was an accident.

Koncsler was found dead inside his cell last year.

It's been 15 years since the last time the county held a coroner's inquest.
