2nd person dies in crash on Route 443 in Mahoning

MAHONING TWP., Pa. - A crash that left one person dead in Carbon County has taken another life.

Tina Martin, 57, of New Ringgold, died of her injuries, according to Mahoning Township police.

The crash happened around 8:50 a.m. on Route 443 near Clinic Road.

Police said the driver of a westbound Chevy Malibu crossed into the oncoming lane of travel and hit an eastbound Chevy Blazer.

Martin, the driver of the Blazer, wasn't wearing a seatbelt, police said. She was flown to St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill Lehigh County.

The Malibu had one occupant, Warren Hile Jr., 50, of Tamaqua, Schuylkill County, who died in the crash. Police said he was unbelted, and so was the dog in the vehicle, who also died.
