Thieves steal copper wire from ski resort

Copper thieves target ski resort

HENRYVILLE, Pa. - Police in the Poconos are investigating a rash of copper wire thefts at a ski resort.

The owner of Alpine Mountain Resort on Route 947 in Henryville, Monroe County, says his resort has been hit five times in the last two weeks.

He says underground wire that's used for the ski lifts and snow-making machines has been ripped out.

The owner says the stolen wire is worth about $35,000.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police.
