Police investigate shooting during alleged road rage

State Police say they're looking into an apparent road rage incident on I-78 in Northampton County in which a gun was fired at a passing car.

It happened Wednesday around 3:45 p.m.  in the eastbound lanes of 78 in Lower Saucon Township.

Police say a woman was almost hit by a swerving silver SUV.

After sounding her horn at the SUV, its driver gave her the middle finger before speeding off.

As the two vehicles were passing each other the female driver then heard a loud bang as she passed the silver SUV.

A short time later she pulled over to call police.

Troopers then found a single bullet hole in the side of the car.

The victim was not hit and is okay.

Police ask if you have any information on the incident to call them.
