WILLIAMS TWP., Pa. - Crime scene tape is wrapped around a Northampton Co. home where police are investigating what's been labeled a "suspicious death."
Around 11 a.m. Wednesday, State Police were called to a home at 418 Morgan Hill Road in Williams Twp. to check on the welfare of a person. They said they found Michael Muretta, 47, in need of medical care.
Muretta was taken to St. Luke's Hospital-Fountain Hill where he died around 1:15 p.m.
Neighbors wouldn't go on camera but told 69 News Muretta was recently divorced and lived on his own.
Several of Muretta's neighbors are employees of Chrin Brothers landfill which happens to border Muretta's property and is the reason they gave us why they wouldn't go on camera.
"We were summoned to this residence earlier today to check on the welfare of an individual residing in the residence. When troopers checked the residence, they found an individual in need of medical attention and the individual was transported to the hospital," said Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Vincent D'Angelo.
Muretta's cause and manner of death are pending until the autopsy takes place Thursday morning but his death, according to the Lehigh County coroner's office, is being investigated as suspicious.
