Police: Man fatally shot in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Allentown.

It happened around 11:45 Tuesday night at an apartment building in the 600 block of N. Jordan and Tilghman streets.

Police said they found the body of 18-year-old John R.E. Briele, of Naugle St. in Allentown.

Lehigh County Deputy Coroner Rich Koon pronounced the victim dead at 12:55 a.m. Wednesday.

Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim said the cause of death was due to a gunshot wound to the body. The manner of death has been ruled a homicide.

An autopsy will be performed Wednesday.

An investigation is under way.
