Police: Night of drinking leads to assault, DUI

WEISENBERG TWP., Pa. - Police said a night of drinking led to an argument and assault for a Berks County couple.

According to police, the incident happened around 1 a.m. July 24 as Kelly Davis and Ralph Davis, both of Kempton, were on their way home from drinking at the Lynnville Hotel, located at 8148 Bausch Rd. in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County.

The two began arguing, police said, and Kelly Davis pulled the car over and Ralph forcefully took over the driving. Sometime during the argument, Ralph sustained a bloody nose.

Once home, Ralph pushed Kelly to the ground and started to choke her, police said, then he left the resident and drove to the Bandit Truck Stop at 2277 Golden Key Rd, in Kutztown.

Police later found Ralph Davis at the truck stop and took him into custody on assault and DUI charges.
