Police: Pantless Passenger Puts Bag Over Bus Driver's Head, Assaults Her

Bieber Bus Traveling West On Route 422 At Time Of Incident

READING, Pa. - A bus passenger has been charged with causing or risking a catastrophe.

And according to court documents, his actions on board the bus certainly could have ended that way.

Police said Carlos Perez-Rodriguez approached the driver of a Bieber Tourways bus as it traveled west on Route 422 from Philadelphia, on its way to Reading, late Thursday night.

They said Perez-Rodriguez, 35, whose last known address was in Reading, placed a plastic bag over the driver's head, obstructing her view of the highway while she was driving at approximately 55 mph in the area of Egypt Road in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County.

Police said the driver told them Perez-Rodriguez, whose pants were down around his ankles, exposed his genitals and grabbed one of her breasts.

According to court documents, the driver managed to stop the bus on the side of the road and escort Perez-Rodriguez back to his seat with his pants still around his ankles.

Bieber said federal guidelines prohibit drivers from leaving passengers alongside the highway.

Police said Perez-Rodriguez remained in his seat until the bus arrived at the Inter-City Terminal at North 3rd and Court streets in downtown Reading. City police then took him into custody.

Perez-Rodriguez was charged with causing or risking a catastrophe, reckless endangerment, simple assault, indecent assault, and indecent exposure.

He was committed to the Berks County Jail on $100,000 bail.

Two other passengers were on the bus at the time, but they were unharmed during the incident.
