Police: Residents In Alburtis Are Safe

ALBURTIS, Pa. - Police in a tiny Lehigh County community say they believe a recent double homicide in the borough was an isolated incident.

The Alburtis Borough Police Chief says police do not believe the borough's residents or residents of the surrounding communities are in any danger.

Alburtis Police are still investigating the murders of Althea Walbert, 82 and her daughter Jeanette, 59.

The women were found dead in their home on Cobblestone Court Friday.

The coroner has ruled their deaths homicides but no other information has been released.

"We are asking the public to be patient and to try to understand that we can not reveal any details that would compromise the integrity of the investigation or hinder it in any way," said Police Chief Robert Palmer.  "The public can be assured that we are doing all that we can to determine what happened and who is responsible."
