Allentown Mayor to receive award in Philadelphia

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski will be recognized by the Pennsylvania Municipal League this week.

The Mayor will be presented with the the Distinguished Service Award at the league's 115th Annual Convention in Philadelphia.

According to the PML, the award is presented to an outstanding and devoted individual each year.

The board of directors says Mayor Pawlowski was selected for his exemplary years of service to the city of Allentown, as well as his leadership as board officer and president of the PML this past year.

"I am extremely honored to receive the Distinguished Service Award from the League. I have a sign above my office door that reads, 'never, never, never give up!' and I try to take that message with me every day," Pawlowski said.

Mayor Pawlowski will receive the award during the convention's welcome breakfast on Wednesday morning.
