Atiyeh proposes smaller hospital

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A Lehigh Valley developer is hoping smaller is better.

Abe Atiyeh says he's re-working his proposal to build a drug and alcohol treatment center at Dewberry Avenue and Center Street in Bethlehem.

He had originally planned to build a four-story hospital on the property but now he's down-sized the plan to a one-story, 80 bed facility.

The city's planning commission was supposed to vote on the plan Thursday but that meeting has been postponed until next month.
