Lehigh County Life begins Tuesday

County residents encouraged to get involved with new website

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -  A new communication tool called Lehigh County Life went online for county residents Tuesday.

The interactive site is designed to expand the county's ability to communicate with residents.

It encourages residents to offer suggestions to make the county a better place to live and work. It promises: "Posts will be reviewed by county leaders to help guide decision-making."

"Lehigh County Life enables us to efficiently connect with Lehigh County residents from Alburtis to Allentown, Coopersburg to Slatington," said County Executive Tom Muller in a news release.

"Take the time to get to know Lehigh County Life and to become an involved digital citizen."

To sign in and log on, Lehigh County residents should go to www.lehighcountylife.com or www.lehighcounty.org and click on the double orange light bulb icon.

Residents will be able to engage using polls, submitting ideas, sharing photos, answering surveys, and winning prizes for points gained by staying involved.

Topics will change from week to week, and responses will be tallied and reported upon as appropriate. In addition, there will be notifications on important news.

Lehigh County Life is meant to help increase citizen involvement throughout the county's many municipalities and townships by obtaining input from residents on a variety of subjects such as recreation, events, transportation, employment, finance, housing, history and other important topics.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county's population is about 355,000.

The template design has been customized with the assistance of the Omaha, Nebraska-based digital engagement firm, MindMixer.com, the interactive company that currently serves more than 400 communities around the United States.
