Raylon Corporation celebrates 60 years with city commendation

READING, Pa. - Reading City Council Monday night presented a commendation to Raylon Corporation in recognition of the company's 60th anniversary.

Raylon Corporation, a full-service wholesaler of beauty products, was founded by Joseph Hafetz in Reading in 1953.

Since its founding, the company has expanded to service over 4500 salons in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and West Virginia.

Raylon Corporation has been voted one of the top 100 best places to work in Pennsylvania three times, and prides itself on staying current and bringing the latest in fashion and technology to its customers.

Howard Hafetz accepted the commendation on behalf of the company. "We are honored to be honored, and thank you for the recognition. I'm sure my father, Big Joe, up there is looking down. It's been a great ride."

The commendation was presented by council member Marcia Goodman-Hinnershitz.

Mayor Vaughn Spencer also congratulated Raylon Corporation and thanked Joseph Hafetz for continuing to call the City of Reading home for 60 years. "We appreciate the fact that you have kept your business in our city for all these years and I'm glad that you were able to be honored."

The business was originally located on Penn Street, and has since moved to Morgantown Road.
