Samuelson, House Dems criticize Corbett's lottery deal

HARRISBURG, Pa. - A local lawmaker is among those criticizing the privatization of the Pennsylvania Lottery.

Pa. Rep. Steve Samuelson and other House Democrats are criticizing Gov. Tom Corbett's deal with Britain's Camelot Global Services.

Democrats said the process has been rushed and non-transparent.

Samuelson said the deal will divert hundreds of millions of dollars away from senior services, but the Corbett administration said that's untrue. Officials said it'll deliver $3 to 4.5 billion in new revenue.

They also said they've been very transparent holding more than 100 meetings and phone calls with lawmakers and staffers.
