R-Phils Ready To Give Away Giant Garden Gnome

READING, Pa. - It may be the biggest giveaway ever at FirstEnergy Stadium.

One lucky fan will win a giant Ryan Howard garden gnome on Thursday.

The statue is around five feet tall and weighs a few hundred pounds.

It arrived in Baseballtown Wednesday afternoon.

The Reading Phillies' home opener at the newly-renovated FirstEnergy Stadium is Wednesday night. Gates open at 4:00.

The first 3,500 fans 15 and older will receive a smaller Ryan Howard garden gnome.

Last year's giveaway of a similar Ryan Howard garden gnome prompted many fans to line up hours before the gates opened.

ESPN named it the best promotion in Minor League Baseball.

Howard was an R-Phil in 2004.
