Reading bank robbery suspect charged in Lebanon holdup

LEBANON, Pa. - A bank robbery suspect in Reading has been charged with robbery in connection with a holdup in Lebanon County.

Shannon DeGeorge robbed a Metro Bank in Lebanon on Monday morning, said police, who noted that DeGeorge gave a teller a note saying no one would be hurt if a teller gave him big bills.

DeGeorge was arrested just hours later in Reading and charged with holding up the Citizens Bank at North 9th and Spring streets on Feb 6. The arrest came after police got a tip from a 69 News viewer.

DeGeorge may have also robbed the Citizens Bank on Lancaster Avenue on February 8, police said.
