Rose wins U.S. Open; Phil takes second again

The stage was set for Phil Mickelson at the U.S. Open, but it was Justin Rose that took home the title at Merion Golf Club.

Rose shot even par on Sunday to finish 1-over for the tournament, winning the championship by two strokes.

It's Rose's first ever major championship.

Mickelson tied with Jason Day at 3-over for the tournament.

It marked the sixth time in Mickelson's career that he has settled for second at the U.S. Open.
