Royals extend Courville heading into Kelly Cup Playoffs

Royals extend Courville, get set for Kelly Cup playoffs

As they prepare for the Kelly Cup Playoffs, the Reading Royals have handed head coach Larry Courville a contract extension.

The two-year deal ensures that Courville will be back as the team's head coach again next season.

It will mark Courville's fifth full season at the helm of the Royals.  He is the winningest coach in team history.

The Royals set a franchise record for wins this year with 46, and are the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Reading will open the playoffs against the No. 8 seed Greenville Warriors this weekend at home.

Games 1 and 2 of the best-of-seven series will be held on Friday and Saturday night at 7pm at the Sovereign Center.

The series will then shift to Greenville next week for Games 3, 4, and 5, before returning to Reading for Games 6 and 7 (if necessary).
