Royals win streak hits 7 with OT victory over Elmira

Royals push win streak to 7 with OT win over Elmira

READING, Pa. - After a really rough start to their season, the Royals have turned things around.  They've started winning games in bunches, the current bunch being six straight wins including two over Trenton this past weekend.

They had a chance to extend that streak to 7 straight games Wednesday night.  The Royals were hosting Elmira who's been a thorn in their side the last few years.

Elmira struck in the first period when Jordan Pietrus scored on a pass from Darren Kramer.

But the Royals responded. Jesse Todd scored on a wicked wrister in the second period to tie it up. Neither team scored the rest of the way so the game went to overtime.

In OT, Ian O'Connor deflected a Brett Flemming shot in for the winning goal.

With the 2-1 victory, Reading pushed it's win streak to seven games.
