Man ordered to stand trial in killing of Norristown teen

NORTH COVENTRY TWP., Pa. - A man accused of brutally killing a teenager in Chester County is heading to trial.

All charges against Shakeem Carter were held for trial Thursday.

Carter, 20, stabbed Kevin Allen more than 20 times inside a unit at the Hanover Garden Apartments in North Coventry Township in mid-February, authorities said.

Carter also used two bottles of cooking oil to light the victim on fire and took $350, officials said.

Allen lived with his mother in Norristown but was visiting his father's apartment near Pottstown at the time he was killed, officials said.
