SHENANDOAH, Pa. - A man wanted on homicide charges in Schuylkill County is in custody.

Police said Luis Nunez-Calderon was arrested in New York City Wednesday.

Police were called to a home at 518 W. Centre Street in Shenandoah on Tuesday and found 38-year-old Wendy Contreras-Hernandez dead inside her home.

She had been fatally stabbed, officials said.

Authorities said Calderon, 41, was the victim's ex-boyfriend and the two had been involved in domestic disputes before.

They said he got a ride to Hazleton then was taken to Manhattan by a truck driver.

Nunez-Calderon is awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania.
