Democrats prep for last debate before election

Mon night event will be livestreamed on

PHILADELPHIA - The four Democrats seeking the party's nomination to take on Republican Gov. Tom Corbett in the fall will meet for their last scheduled debate.

Monday night's hour-long debate is in Drexel University's Mandell Theater on Chestnut Street at 7 p.m.

Businessman and first-time candidate Tom Wolf has carried a strong lead in polls after airing daily campaign ads on TV long before state Treasurer Rob McCord, former Clinton White House environmental adviser Katie McGinty and U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz.

Wolf's outspent his nearest competitor by millions, thanks to his personal wealth. Every Pennsylvania governor since 1974 has won a second term, but Corbett's political support remains stubbornly low.

Drexel says 22 radio and TV stations are carrying the debate live. It's also being streamed live on Drexel's website.

Journalist, news anchor and author Larry Kane will serve as moderator and produce the debate. He will be joined by two panelists: Daily News columnist John Baer and American Cities Foundation president Sandra Dungee Glenn.

WFMZ will be streaming the debate live at It will be aired in its entirety on WFMZ Channel 69 on Saturday, May 17 at 8 p.m.

The primary election is May 20.
