First responders rescue woman from car

A police chief in Montgomery County was in the right place at the right time and helped make a dramatic rescue.

Lower Pottsgrove Township Police Chief Michael Foltz helped out at a mock accident Friday at Pottsgrove High School.

The event is aimed at encouraging safe driving habits.

As first responders were leaving, they got a call about a real accident nearby on Kepler Road.

The chief was one of the first to arrive and helped rescue a woman who was trapped in her car after it hit a tree and landed on a large rock.

"This goes hand in hand with the mock accident scene we put on at the high school for the students and it exemplifies how quickly life does change," said Chief Mike Foltz.

We're told the woman in the car was flown to Reading Hospital.

There's no word tonight on her condition.
