Limerick man facing 700 counts of possession of child porn

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - A Limerick man was arrested for 700 counts of felony sexual abuse of children, possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele.

Detectives received a cybertip regarding a child pornography post to an internet set in March from the Delaware County ICAC Task Force. The tip was initiated by an internet-based company called Chatstep.

When detectives viewed the image, they were able to estimate the female child to be around nine to 12 years of age. Using the IP address, detectives created an administrative subpoena for subscriber information and received the name of the account holder, Joseph Geib of Betty Lane in Limerick.

Upon further investigation, three individuals were found to be residing at the home and detectives prepared a search warrant, which they executed Oct. 4.

At the time of the search warrant, all three individuals were present. Detectives say Zachary Geib made statements indicating he viewed images of child pornography on his computer.

Detectives then collected the computer as part of the search warrant and later found over 3,000 images of pornography, with at least 1,000 images showing young girls between ages 3 and 14 engaged in sexual acts.

Geib provided a statement to detectives and admitted to viewing child pornography while he was intoxicated. He also admitted to using ChatStep to view the images.

He was arrested and arraigned Nov. 14, with bail set at $100,000 unsecured. Geib was released and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 12.
