A Montgomery County clerk once banned from issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples is now in the clear.
State officials previously took Register of Wills Bruce Hanes to court.
They said he violated the state's law against gay marriage for issuing 174 licenses before being ordered to stop last September.
Tuesday a State Supreme Court lifted that ban.
The decision comes one week after a federal judge overturned Pennsylvania's law against same-sex marriage.
