Police event makes wish come true for boy battling cancer

WEST POTTSGROVE TWP., Pa. - Area police departments and a Berks County-based charity came together to brighten the holiday spirits of a young boy battling cancer.

The West Pottstove, East Vincent and West Vincent police departments and Red Corner Benefit held a special event for Kieran, who just returned home from the hospital while he battles a second bout with cancer.

Red Corner gave the 4-year-old boy several gifts and police helped make a wish come true by giving him a ride in a police SWAT vehicle.

"Our goal was simple. It was just to make sure this young man had a chance to really enjoy Christmas and what it meant," said Chief Matthew Stofflet, West Pottsgrove Township Police Department.

The three police departments also donated $1,000 that they raised during their "No Shave November" fundraisers.
