Quakertown Community High School receives new turf field

QUAKERTOWN, Pa. - Quakertown Community High School is receiving its new artificial turf field this week.

According to the school's director of communications, 11 fields are needed to house the district's increase of sports teams and marching bands.

Workers are putting in the turf as part of an improvement to the sports complex, as the school board agreed to a $3.6 million fix for the "flood-prone area."

In addition to the artificial turf, workers will be elevating the grounds five feet to solve the flooding issue.

The money will also be used for work at Alumni Field.

The director of communications says the current fields used for lacrosse, soccer and field hockey will remain and two practice fields are going to be built.
