School bus driver sentenced for deadly hit-and-run crash

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - A school bus driver who admitted to a deadly hit-and-run crash in Montgomery County has been sentenced to three years of probation and 600 hours of community service.

Donna Engler learned her fate in court Thursday. She pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and careless driving in January.

Engler struck and killed Shirley Wilhem, 78, on Mervine Street in Lower Pottsgrove Township, near Pottstown, in September.

Engler initially fled the scene, but she later turned herself in, officials said.
