Homicide suspect's uncle lied during testimony, DA says

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - The uncle of a man charged with murder was ordered Tuesday to stand trial himself on charges he lied to a judge during a court hearing.

Seth Holden was charged with perjury and false swearing for providing false testimony during a suppression hearing on behalf of his nephew, Omar Miller, on Jan. 10, Montgomery County prosecutors said.

Miller is facing trial on a first degree murder charge in the May 5, 2013, death of Kareem Ali Borowy in Lower Pottsgrove Township.

Holden testified he witnessed Miller being "Tased" and beaten by law enforcement officers at the time of his arrest, officials said.

Holden then contradicted that sworn testimony in an interview with detectives on Jan. 16, officials said.

Holden, 56, remains free pending further court action.
