Truck rolls on Route 100 off-ramp in North Coventry; driver injured

NORTH COVENTRY TWP., Pa. - The driver of a truck managed to escape serious injuries when his rig rolled onto its side near Pottstown on Wednesday.

The truck was heading to a landfill in Berks County when the accident happened shortly after 8:30 a.m. on the ramp from Route 100 South to Route 422 West in North Coventry Township, Chester County, police said.

The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, officials said.

Crews had to separate the container from the toppled truck before it could be towed away, causing the ramp to be closed to motorists for an extended period of time.
