Two trapped drivers die in fiery crash on Route 202

Witnesses tried to save victims, but heat and flames drove them back

BUCKINGHAM TWP., Pa. - Two people were trapped in their burning cars and died Friday morning in an accident along Route 202 in Bucks County.

It happened at about 7:30 a.m.  in the 5400 block of Route 202, near Byecroft Road in Buckingham Township.

Killed were Nicole Bereshny-Ott, 30, of Hatfield and Yan Zou, 50, of  Jamison.

When police arrived at the accident scene, two vehicles were burning with their drivers trapped inside them.

Other people on the scene had attempted to save the trapped motorists, but were unable to do so because of the heat and flames.

The cause of the accident is being investigated. Anyone who witnessed it is asked to call Buckingham police at 215-794-8812.
