Tracy Martin, Marie Hinds accused of buying gun used in subway shootout

Lehigh Co. couple charged with buying gun used in shootout

A Lehigh County couple is facing federal charges after investigators said the pair lied to obtain a gun that was later used in a deadly police shoot out.

Tracy Martin and Marie Hinds orchestrated the straw purchase of two guns in January 2011, officials said.

The couple lied on official paperwork and said the guns were for Hinds when they bought them at the Army Navy store in Whitehall Twp., Lehigh Co., officials said.

The Morning Call newspaper of Allentown reported Peter Jourdan, of Allentown, used one of the guns when he shot at two police officers on a New York City subway earlier this month.

Jourdan was later shot and killed by police. The officers suffered minor injuries.
