The U.S. advanced to the knockout stage of the World Cup despite a 1-0 loss to Germany on Thursday.
Even with the loss in Recife, Brazil, the Americans remained in second place in their group, thanks to Portugal's 2-1 victory over Ghana in the day's other Group G game.
Portugal and Ghana were eliminated from the tournament with the results of the two games.
The Americans will next play Tuesday against the first-place team in Group H, with Belgium-South Korea and Algeria-Russia wrapping up group play with matches starting at 4 p.m. Eastern time Thursday.
