Armed bandit robs woman in Berkshire Mall parking lot

WYOMISSING, Pa. - Police in Berks County are looking for an armed man who robbed a woman as she was taking her children out of the car in a mall parking lot.

The incident happened just before 2 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the Berkshire Mall, 1665 State Hill Rd., in Wyomissing.

The robber, police said, was armed with a black semi-automatic pistol when he demanded the woman's purse.

Borough police put out a plea Wednesday, asking for the public's help in finding the man and a woman who was with him.

The man is described as white, in his late teens to early 20s, standing around 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a very thin build. He had orange hair, possibly red or blonde hair dyed orange. He also had a light complexion with pock marks and blue eyes.

The woman is described as white, also in her late teens to early 20s, standing around 5 feet, 4 inches tall with a medium to heavy build. She had blonde hair in a ponytail and a light complexion.

The two fled in a dark-colored, early- to mid-1990s four-door Toyota Camry.

Anyone with information is asked to call Wyomissing police at 610-375-6102 or Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913.
