Trenton man gets 5 years in prison in sex assault of child

FLEMINGTON, N.J. - A Trenton, New Jersey man has learned his fate after pleading guilty to sexual assault.

Maximino Sanchez, 37, was sentenced to five years in prison and parole supervision for life, according to the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office.

Sanchez will also have to register as a sex offender and a restraining order prohibits him from having any contact with the victim or family.

Officials say he is expected to be deported after serving his prison sentence.

Sanchez admitted in February to sexually assaulting a child under 13 years old.

Investigators say the incidents occurred over a period of time in 2013 in Lambertville and at the time the whereabouts of Sanchez were unknown.

Sanchez was arrested in December 2017.
