What are the differences between a hurricane and a typhoon?

The only difference between the two is there geographic location.

Tropical storms occur in several of the world's oceans, and except for their names, they are essentially the same type of storm.

These storms often occur in the Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, and the Eastern Pacific Ocean and are known as hurricanes.

In the Western Pacific Ocean, the tropical storms are called typhoons.

And in the Indian Ocean, the Bay of Bengal, and Australia, these types of storms are called cyclones.
