Woman Testifies Against Brother In Murder Trial

READING, Pa. - A murder case pitted sibling against sibling in court Tuesday.

The victim in the case, Kenrick Bogle, 62, of Allentown, was the father of the accused, Floyd Bogle, 36, and also one of the witnesses, Stacey Bogle.

Stacey and Floyd have different mothers.

Floyd Bogle is accused of killing his father in April 2007.

Kenrick Bogle's body was found inside his car in the parking lot of East Penn Manufacturing in Richmond Township, Berks County.

Tuesday, one of Kenrick's co-workers at East Penn testified that, at the time of his death, Kenrick Bogle was making retirement plans and, in a couple months, was hoping to move back to his native Jamaica.

Leading up to Stacey Bogle's testimony, the defense tried to paint a picture of a longstanding, rocky relationship within the family.

Defense attorney Keith McConnell cross-examined Floyd Bogle's ex-girlfriend, asking about relationships between Floyd and his father and Floyd and his half-sister.

McConnell asked, "My client, he was proud of his father, correct? "

Floyd Bogle's ex-girlfriend answered, "Yes."

McConnell followed up, "And [Floyd Bogle] was grateful to his father?"

The witness again answered, "Yes. "

The attorney then asked if Floyd talked about the problems he was having with his sister.

"And would it be fair to say Stacey Bogle didn't like Floyd very much?" McConnell asked.

The witness answered, "Correct."

When Stacey Bogle took the stand, she told jurors she helped her father manage the household bills after her mother had a stroke.

She said she took a call about a fraudulent credit card opened up in Kenrick Bogle's name.

Assistant District Attorney Kevin Howard asked Stacey, "What was your father's demeanor when he would discuss Floyd or you got the call about the credit card?"

"He was upset," Stacey Bogle replied. "He said Floyd burned me once. He's not going to burn me again."

Testimony is supposed to resume Wednesday, but could be delayed depending on the weather.
