Woman who killed grandfather returning to Allentown

Chene Angelique Mejias should be extradited from NYC March 31

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The young woman accused of stabbing her grandfather to death should be returned to Allentown to face justice by the end of this month.

A spokeswoman for the district attorney's office in Bronx, N.Y., said Chene Angelique Mejias waived extradition Monday and should be picked up by Allentown police on March 31.

She has been charged with criminal homicide in the March 10 stabbing death of her grandfather, 65-year-old Wilson A. Mejias, in the apartment they shared at 841 S. 12th St. in Allentown.

The woman fled to New York City, where she turned herself in to police.
