Becahi wins state championship

Bethlehem Catholic has won its first ever PIAA 2A state boys volleyball championship.

The Golden Hawks beat York Suburban 3-1 on Saturday at State College to take home the gold.

Becahi lost the first set before battling back to take the next three.

The Golden Hawks started the day with a 3-1 win over Dover in the semifinal round.

Becahi's championship marked the first state gold medal ever for any District 11 boys volleyball team.

Pennridge lost in five sets to Chambersburg in the PIAA 3A state title match.

It was the Rams' first ever appearance in the state volleyball finals.
