The streak lives on: The Chicago Blackhawks' historic run to start the season without a regulation loss continued at 22 as they defeated the Red Wings 2-1 in a shootout in a scintillating contest Sunday afternoon at Joe Louis Arena. In a terrific goaltending showdown, the Wings' Jimmy Howard and Corey Crawford dueled before Patrick Kane scored the winner in the shootout to end it. The Hawks improved to 19-0-3 on the season and their run of games with at least one point stands at 28 dating to last season. Tomas Tartar's goal early in the third was the Wings' score in regulation and the Hawks' was by Kane with 2:02 remaining in the third and the streak looking like it would be ended. The Hawks controlled the play throughout the opening period and held a 9-3 shot advantage, but couldn't solve Howard. Two power-play chances came up empty as the Hawks managed a combined three shots during four minutes with a man advantage. Crawford wasn't tested often, but came up big in the waning seconds of the first when he stoned the Wings' Pavel Datsyuk on a rush.
