Brandywine Heights beats Berks Catholic to avenge early loss
Among the small schools in the state of Pennsylvania in the last dozen years, you could make the argument that Brandywine Heights and Berks Catholic, formerly Reading Central Catholic and Holy Name, have as much of a winning history as anyone. They have proven time and time again that they have enough talent to win state titles. That makes their league showdowns a lot of fun.
Berks Catholic won the first meeting this year. The Bullets hoped for revenge at home Thursday night and they would get it.
Brandywine Heights swept the Saints 3-0 (26-24, 25-20, 25-23).
Heather Swann and Emily Vaughan paced the Bullets. Swann tallied 12 kills while Vaughan recorded 11.
Courtney Wensel had 13 kills to lead the way for the Saints.
Both teams are 9-1 in Berks II. Each has two games remaining.
