When he wasn't drawing up a play on the whiteboard for Dwight Howard, Lakers guard Kobe Bryant barked instructions on where his teammates should rotate. Such was life for the Lakers star whose will to play through a severely sprained left ankle lasted only the first quarter of Friday's win over the Indiana Pacers. After struggling to put any pressure on his ankle, he spent the rest of the game sitting on the bench as one of Mike D'Antoni's defacto assistant coaches. He sounded pretty clear on what he would do if he can't play tonight when the Lakers (35-32) host the Sacramento Kings (23-43) at Staples Center. "Keep coaching," Bryant said. "I watch a boatload of film so I know. I'm very well-prepared. "I'm going to continue to try to put guys in positions to be successful." Bryant might want to keep that clipboard ready.
