Datsyuk picked No. 1 in NHL All-Star draft
NHL All-Star Game set for Sunday in Ottawa

Zdeno Chara opted for offensive firepower to counter the home-ice edge of Daniel Alfredsson in Thursday night's NHL All-Star fantasy draft.
Chara selected Detroit Red Wings star forward Pavel Datsyuk with the No. 1 pick while Alfredsson went with teammate and defenseman Erik Karlsson with the second selection.
The two selections set a theme for the evening as Chara, the captain of the Boston Bruins, scooped up his teammate in goaltender Tim Thomas and Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin and Chicago's Marian Hossa with his next three picks.
That gave Team Chara three of the four leading scorers in the NHL, with Malkin entering the break with nine goals in seven games to give him a league-best 58 points.
With the game being played in Ottawa, Senators captain Alfredsson kept the home fans happy by following the selection of Karlsson with teammate Jason Spezza, Los Angeles goaltender Jonathan Quick and Philadelphia's Claude Giroux, who is second to Malkin in the scoring race.
It's not that Team Alfredsson lacks weapons on offense. Alfredsson picked Steven Stamkos, the league's leading goal scorer with 32, and Vancouver's Sedin twins, Henrik and Daniel, who may have purposely been eschewed by Chara due to the bitter rivaly between last season's Stanley Cup finalists.
Joffrey Lupul of Toronto, the assistant captain of Team Chara, was booed lustily by the Ottawa fans and he prodded them further with the selections of Maple Leafs teammates Phil Kessel and Dion Phaneuf.
Alfredsson continues to fan the home flames by tabbing a fourth teammate, Ottawa's Milan Michalek, as well as former Senators goaltender Brian Elliott, who has a league-best 1.69 goals-against average with St. Louis.
The final pick was San Jose's Logan Couture, who was given a new Honda automobile as a consolation prize for the waiting game.
The game will be played Sunday at Scotiabank Place starting at 4 p.m. ET. Below are the complete rosters:
