Devils win final home game of season, 3-2, over Penguins
David Clarkson collected his team-leading 15th goal and Ilya Kovalchuk scored in the third period as the Devils marked their final home game of the season with a 3-2 comeback victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins Thursday night at Prudential Center. Patrik Elias assisted on two goals for the Devils, who will finish their season Saturday afternoon against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden. With the Rangers clinching a playoff spot Thursday night by defeating the Hurricanes, the Devils cannot deny their rivals a playoff spot. The Devils’ home finale was not a sellout (16,122). The Devils sold out 18 of 24 home games this season but finished with four straight non-sellouts.
