Diamondbacks, Trumbo agree on one-year contract
The Arizona Diamondbacks reached agreement on a one-year, $4.8 million contract with outfielder Mark Trumbo, CBSSports.com reported Thursday.
Trumbo avoided arbitration in his first year with the team after he was acquired from the Los Angeles Angels in a three-team trade in December. Trumbo had requested $5.85 million and the Diamondbacks offered $3.4 million last month.
The 27-year-old Trumbo, who remains under team control through the 2016 season, belted 34 home runs and drove in 100 runs while batting .234 in 159 games for the Angels in 2013. He has hit 95 homers in the past three seasons.
