Miami Dolphins tight end Emmanuel Ogbuehi, who spent the final month last season on the practice squad, was released to make room for undrafted rookie wide receiver Gerald Ford, the team announced Wednesday.
Ford was signed and released by the Cleveland Browns after the draft.
In 2012, the 6-foot-3, 223-pound Ford was named the Gulf South Conference Offensive Player of the Year and helped lead Valdosta State to the Division II national championship. He had 52 catches for 836 yards and 12 touchdowns that season.
Ford was academically ineligible in both the 2011 and 2013 seasons.
