The Salisbury Falcons needed extra innings on Tuesday to beat Neumann-Goretti in round one of the state tournament. Meanwhile Parkland fell to North Penn and Pennridge won at the AAAA level.

Salisbury needed 8 innings to beat Neumann-Goretti, but the Falcons rallied in the 8th to win 6-2.  They'll face Hughesville Thursday in the quarterfinals.

North Penn beat Parkland 1-0 behind a 3-hit shutout from pitcher Brian Maher.  The win puts the Knights into the quarterfinals against Coatesville.

Pennridge also advanced, beating LaSalle 11-4 in the opening round.  That moves the Rams into the next round to face Wyoming Valley West.
